I've had psoriasis too - since I was a teenager. I've suffered from stress related problems since then which I am sure has contributed to it, although my pre-paleo diet didn't help much either! Almost clear now, but still working on it!

I have Crohn's disease - diagnosed at age 19, but it was probably developing for a couple years leading up to that.

I was diagnosed with eczema as an infant. I believe I was headed towards a celiac diagnoses or IBS at minimum before discovering Paleo and then later AIP.

I was diagnosed with psoriasis at 20 and psoriatic arthritis at 33 (though had problems starting at 19). I also was diagnosed with a spastic colon at 11 after numerous doctor and hospital visits. Continued stomach and digestive problems until I tried Paleo 2 yrs ago, but I couldn't keep it up. After an odd allergic reaction in Oct 2013 which led to weeks of other problems, an endocrinologist suggested Paleo. On Feb. 8 of this year I took out gluten and slowly moved to AIP. Hoping for healing soon.

I have had rheumatoid arthritis for 20 years. In the last 10 years I was also diagnosed with adrenal fatigue, depression, hypothyroidism, lichen planus and chronic fatigue, maybe something else, brain fog, LOL! I have a wonderful functional medicine doctor but many of her treatments are too expensive for me to try. So I currently use her and a rheumatologist to treat my RA. I frequently refuse the conventional medical treatments because they are so toxic and am trying to control symptoms with diet. I recently discovered I'm a "non-metholator" and began treatment with metholated B12 injections. This has been AMAZING! This has helped me more than any treatment in twenty years! My current mission is to spread the word about this genetic defect that causes so many health problems but isn't recognized by mainstream medicine, and is so easily corrected. My search for my own cure to my personal "autoimmune puzzle" also includes being gluten/casein free. I followed this plan for many years but after a stressful divorce, began eating wheat and dairy again. My symptoms intensified dramatically and I had to retire due to my disability. Soooo, back to being gf/cf and now discovering that many other foods, lack of sleep and STRESS affect me greatly, also! So much to learn, so much to do! Very grateful I found the Paleo Mom and others on this journey. Here's to our continued journey towards health!

I was DX with Ankylosing Spondylitis in 2011 (misdiagnosed with Fibromyalgia 15+ years ago), but have suffered since early childhood (single digits...6-8 yr old). Doctors believed my immune system went haywire during a massive kidney infection in childhood, as I have a congenital kidney defect that caused chronic, critical kidney & bladder infections. A lifetime of antibiotics rendered my gut a total mess and I am now working to rebuild and repair my gut flora and function in hopes of putting AS into remission.
Also, I was just DX with SIBO last month and have been responding very well to treatment (xifaxan + Prescript Assist probiotics & avoiding carbs). Prescript Assist has helped tremendously. So far I am seeing huge improvements with both AS & SIBO symptoms by following a low starch AIP diet....low starch is specific to Ankylosing Spondylitis & killing off Klebsiella gut bacteria responsible for AS pain/inflammation.

My name is Gidget (or Deb but that was already taken). I was diagnosed in 2011 with chronic leukemia, and environmental illness called MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity), candidis overgrowth, food allergies, gluten sensitivity, asthma & chronic fatigue. I began organic allergy rotation diet three years ago which about 2 years ago morphed into a Paleo diet. Eating right and avoiding environmental triggers I can feel like normal but exposures to chemicals like perfumes, fragranced dryer sheets, new carpet and paint I immediately have multiple symptoms with severity depending on amount and length of exposure. I am allergic to cow dairy but can use sheep and goat, peanuts, soy and my worst offender which I can't even be around others eating is corn.
