Hello everyone! My name is Christine and my family of three (me, husband, and daughter) started transitioning to Paleo in May 2014. Over the past seven months my husband and I have seen major improvements in our health, losing a combined total of about 75 pounds, increasing our energy, and just generally feeling better. Our daughter, 8 1/2, eats the same as we do the majority of the time but struggles with eating the lunches we provide (paleo) often "forgetting" she brought lunch and getting school lunch instead (definitely NOT paleo!). We're working on it.
We recently started a blog, www.ourkidcancook.blogspot.com, where my daughter does the cooking and I take the photos and help with the sharp/hot stuff. We've got one post up so far and hope to have more up soon...
My husband and I both work fulltime and we live in the Willamette Valley in Oregon. It's beautiful here.
Except for an allergy to walnuts (me) and a suspected sensitivity to dairy (all three of us!), we don't have any major health issues. My daughter does have ADHD (Inattentive) and takes medication for it. We are hoping that if we can get her diet squeaky clean and remove any allergy or sensitivity triggers we can control her condition with diet and lifestyle and stop the medication eventually.
Since we've got the diet mostly down (I'd say we're pretty close to 80/20 Paleo), we're working on improving quantity and quality of sleep. Once that's down, we'll add in more exercise like walks, playing outside, and possible finding a cross-fit class to join. I've done a few weight lifting classes at a local gym and I definitely feel strong and sexy after lifting weight.
So that's me (us) in a nutshell. Looking forward to finding friends and support in this community!
