I have psorasis on my palms and soles and have had it for many years and at times the flare ups make walking unbearable. I have been following the Paleo way of living for 7 weeks. My psorasis flared up after about 3 weeks of paleo eating but has now settled down and I am sure it is looking better than it has for years and a bonus of 7 kilos lighter. I don't miss my former way of eating - I find that if I am organised I have more than enough to eat and the variety is amazing ... thank heavens for the freezer. By joining this community I hope to share my story and be in touch with others who are like minded - I am from New Zealand but with the internet I could be anyones neighbour.

Good morning. I feel your pain re: palm/feet psoriasis. I had it horribly before going gluten free 4 years ago (I couldn't even walk barefoot on the beach on my honeymoon without major pain) and now, I only have a couple small spots on my fingers. I've been Paleo AIP for 2 months and my hands are finally almost clear. It's amazing! I kind of use the one little spot left as my gauge when I've eaten something my body doesn't like; like a health barometer. I wish you the best of luck!!

Thankyou for taking the time to reply .. I am not AIP YET but just reading your post has me even more convinced that I need to go AIP. I also wish you clear days ahead. :-)

Welcome from another New Zealander. I eat paleo-style, and am currently experimenting with low FODMAP foods to hopefully cure IBS

Hi Rach ... I wish you well with the low FODMAP foods .. I had a quick look up as I wasn't sure what FODMAP was - just like AIP Paleo it is quite restrictive in what you can eat BUT if we get the results we desire then I am all for changing my way of living. Thankyou for introducing yourself and all the best for the fast looming Christmas holidays.

I've dealt with psoriasis for nearly all my life and during my most recent flare {way back in February of this year} it was under my toes/toenails as well as flaring my PA. Brutal. Of course that was because of a failed reintro {pecans}, since then I've had no new flares. Thankfully I hope yours continues to improve!!

Hello Erin, unfortunately when reintroducing foods we do have to be prepared for 'fails' but on the positive if you don't have flare ups then its another food to add in. YAY!! It is small steps. My psoriasis seems calm at the moment and the skin doesn't seem to be thickening although it still gets itchy when it dries so I try to keep it moist. I have been 'egg' free for one week so will see if this improves the state of my skin. Overall I feel so much healthier and that is a huge plus. All the best with your health. :-)
