I was never able to breastfeed so I've been exclusively pumping and now my milk has been severely drying up, I still pump every two hours at 9 months, I'm still going to continue to pump until at least a year, or when I'm completely dry. I've been slowly gathering the ingredients for the Weston price foundation liver formula but I'm not even making close to enough to feed her right now, I have a small freezer stash so I'm worried that's not going to last until I get all the ingredients. Does anyone know how much breast milk a 9 month old needs? Does anyone have any other alternatives to formula? Is it safe to give the liver formula without the Infant Bifidum? I'm currently waiting to hear from the company selling it. I've heard many people say that you can start on milk now because she's old enough, but that makes me slightly nervous. I know the Weston price website states you can give them raw cows milk after 8 months if your child meets some requirements and my child meets all of them. I wanted to do either goats milk or broth after a year, I was still looking into that. From what I've read pasteurized is not okay until 1, but I've had people say otherwise so I'm confused. Based on my supply I'm thinking my daughter will be able to get maybe 15oz of breast milk a day, unless it decreases more. We also think my daughter may have a milk intolerance based on her not reacting well to the formula at the hospital she had while we were waiting for my supply to come in, that's why I was looking more into goats milk and the liver formula.
Right now she gets 22oz a day and bone broth with just the oils added until I get all my ingredients, if I could continue that way with just less milk and more bone broth it was make my life easier.
Im just so confused and upset over the situation and I'd really appreciate anyone's input/advice.
