A program to organize e-recipes/e-books?

I LOVE the concept of e-books. I don't mind using them. The problem I have with them is they are hard to find what I am looking for when I want it. I would LOVE if there was a program out there that would slurp up all my e-book recipes and make it searchable for things like: canned salmon, celery and sweet potato; no tomatoes or whatever. Or that would group all my pork, beef, fish, veggie recipes together. 

Does anything like this exist? Ideally it would work with Kindle e-books. Am I dreaming? Does anyone know anyone that designs apps? I would pay good money for a program like this!!

I don't know about programs...but I throw all my recipes into Evernote. I tag carefully so I can do searches easily. My tags include the main source of protein (beef, chicken, etc.), as well as if a recipe is AIP or NF (nightshade-free), how long it takes to make (short=30 minutes or less, medium=30-60 minutes, long=>1 hour), and also what type of meal it would make (dinner, snack, etc.). Evernote is great because you can access it from multiple devices-I use the web version to meal plan at my computer and the mobile version in the kitchen while I cook.

You can have it auto-paste text into notes (from websites, mainly, I think), but I prefer things to look neat, so I copy and paste (sometimes I just type it out myself) and format it so all recipes are the same. The downside to using Evernote is that if it crashes or they go out of business (like any program), I "lose" all that information (I say "lose" because it's all still there in cookbooks and blog posts...I'd just have to find it again).

Searching is easy-you can search by tags (AIP dinner beef short) or by terms ("sweet potatoes" "-bacon"-means no bacon).
