What can you do to eat clean while traveling. I have been away for 5 days and "tox-ing" my body. I need travel tips for when I am away from home please!

I have compiled a list on the FB Group "Paleo/AIP hosts and guests around the world": Meat/Fishjerky canned fish (in olive oil or water) bone broth (frozen, keeps cool for quite a while under "normal" weather conditions, not for long journeys) Fatsolive oil coconut oil Fruitavocados oranges berries Vegetablesraw vegetables like carrots, fennel, cucumbers cooked vegetables plantain chips NutsBrazil nuts macadamia nuts coconut chips Spicesturmeric garlic salt pepper lemon salad dressing in a sealed box/bottle Doughs for wraps and sandwiches www.deliciousobsessions.com/2014/06/plantain-sandwich-rounds/simpleandmerry.com/blog/aip-plantain-wraps/myheartbeets.com/paleo-naan-indian-bread/ Cosmeticscoconut oil (= body lotion! Mix with shea butter to avoid melting when traveling in hot weather, SB : CO = 4:1) homemade sunscreen homemade bug-repellent baking soda (= makes a great deo with coconut oil) Dr. Bronner's all natural soap (for EVERYthing, including toothpaste, washing clothes etc.) Supplementspersonal supplements green clay (for your funny tummy > drink diluted in water before/with meals to avoid gastrointestinal issues when eating unfamiliar foods) Great websites and posts about bringing along foods while you are traveling On airplanes: foodbabe.com/2014/06/27/healthy-airport-food/

Oh this is so helpful. I'm taking a sailing class where I'll be on a boat with 6 other people for 5 days and all meals will be prepared on board. I've sailed with this group before but this time I shared my "inconvenient restrictions" because last time I didn't and flip-flopped between starving and getting nightshaded, dairies and grained to death. I made some recommendations - fresh, uncomplicated meats, fish, seafood, vegetables and fruits and plenty of water. The menu they sent out was basically the same as last time, with the addition of a grilled steak. So, I'm having to find substitutes for lasagne, posole and Carne asada. I think I'll pre-make AIP meatloaf and plantain lasagne and honey-garlic chicken for dinners and veggies for happy hour. I'll browse these recommendations you've shared for other ideas. Thanks!

saraburns, maybe you can offer to do at least some of the cooking and thus take control of what's happening in the kitchen. Taking a meatloaf (or meat balls) on board is a great idea, I always take canned tuna/other fish as well for emergencies. Simply request your meat/fish to be prepared without batter and any other ingredients but salt, pepper and lemon.
