I've been on my AIP cleanse diet for three weeks. I feel good but very restricted. It's so time consuming to plan and prepare meals. Aside from my depression(which is currently under control with an antidepressant), I don't have any immediate symptoms that I'm aware of when I consume foods that my lab work indicates I'm sensitive to. I know I will not introduce gluten/grains again ever, but I'm wondering about coffee and eggs. Since they are cross reactive with gluten, I don't want to sabotage my efforts by consuming then if my body is only going to react as if I'm eating gluten...but I'm asymptomatic so how will I know??? I'm in love with my morning cup of Joe...the past three days I've had one cup in the morning with no issues.

It's equally possible that you are sensitive to certain foods , but eating them occasionally won't cause a discernible reaction. I am sensitive to eggs, but I can eat them every day for about a week before I start reacting. If I do something like that and then react, it can be several months before I can reintroduce that food. Introduce slowly, rotate your food, and track symptoms.

I have the same thing as ccobine - I can eat egg yolks, but not egg whites. If I eat a whole egg, say scrambled or in an omelette I'm fine - but if I have it the next day I'll flare up. It's the same with sugars. A lot of it is to do with moderation. Have you read Eileen Laird's ebook on Reintroductions on AIP? www.phoenixhelix.com/2014/04/27/introducing-my-e-book/ Just might be another resource that helps.
