I have being following AIP for several months. I am following it closely, or at least I think I am. I initially felt much better. I now feel like I am back in the same rut. The brain fog is better, but my energy is still low to often. I have been watching FODMAP foods but they don't really lead to intestinal problems. If I have too much fruit my thighs get tired and stay that way for quite a while. It sometimes seems to impact my vision as well. I often NEED a nap after eating. The results are very fast and last much longer than I would prefer. Do I need to watch FODMAPs more? I am trying to avoid them, but the lists shift! It is a histamine issue? Insulin sensitivity? I am avoiding what showed up on my intolerance and allergy blood work. I need to stop losing weight. I am eating wild caught fish, nongmo pork, and grassfed beef plus tons of greens and whatever I can find that isn't a fodmap. I am trying to up bone broth and have a couple servings of offal a week. I am on vitamins and probiotics. I have celiac and have been gf for almost two years and have treated candida for 6mths. I would love to get to the bottom of this while there are still foods that my body tolerates!! I sleep well, garden and take care of my family. Any ideas???

Do you mind if I ask why you're avoiding FODMAPs if they don't cause digestive problems for you? AIP + low FODMAP is a pretty restrictive combination, and it can be really easy to go too low calorie, low carb, or even just wind up vitamin deficient when food choices are severely limited. Have you tried tracking your food in CRON-o-meter or something similar to check for low intake?

I am pre-diabetic, and that state happens to me when I eat too much starchy or sweet food, especially on an empty stomach.

I was/am avoiding FODMAPs as they seem to contribute to fog and other issues. I was wondering if it was a blood sugar issue but have tested my blood (at home) and if it is a problem, it is a low level issue. Maybe it would still mean pre-diabetic? Maybe I am just really sensitive? I haven't tracked my diet but I eat balanced, good sized meals with as much variety as this area can offer. Maybe I need to do more blood testing to get a better average. If it is a blood sugar issue, then what? Will AIP help regulate it?
