I feel like I'm at the end of my rope. I can't get my Crohn's disease into remission despite all types of diet mods AND drugs. I've done SCD for almost 2 years, paleo and now AIP and none of them seem to help. I'm on steroids again when I just got off them two months ago. My Crohn's is severe and causes all types of extra intestinal symptoms, one of them being debilitating arthritis, so although the GI symptoms are not fun, it's the arthritis that makes it unbearable. The only time I ever had a lasting remission was due to the nursing hormones after pregnancy. Otherwise I'm constantly flaring.
Does anyone have any integrative medicine/naturopathic doctor they recommend? I've already tried Chris Kresser and he didn't give me any other information that what I already researched. I'm getting really desperate and can't continue to live like this.

Have you tries doing a Google search of "integrative doctor"? I did one just now and it listed several integrative doctors in my area as well as the department of integrative medicine at Stanford University Med Center.

Hi, I'm a big fan of Kresser but I have read he's not overly friendly.. What tests have you had ? What have you cut out for how long ? What alternative therapies have you tried ? If you don't mind me asking... (Otherwise ignore this

I have been on the hunt for a good naturopathic/functional medicine practitioner as well. I did find one that would "see" me through phone consultations. He seems like a great doctor and I would have loved to continue working with him, but I just was not able to continue due to finances. After your first two visits where he does a complete workup, he offers a package consultation program that you either pay up front or make monthly payments, but I was just not able to afford it at this time. That's why I am still looking for someone that would see me on a pay per visit basis. He has great reviews through yelp. His name is Dr. Bryan Haas. He is a DC and also a functional medicine doctor. He does specialize in thyroid issues, but I wonder if he would be able to help you. He is very thorough with his lab testing and does many of the lab tests that I have heard recommended by other functional medicine practitioners through various summits I have listened to online. If you google his name through Yelp, you could check it out. I spoke to him over the phone for half an hour free of charge just to see if his services would be of benefit to me. There is also a physician's directory on www.seekinghealth.org and you could also look at Institute for Functional Medicine's (IFM) website. They have a tab that says "Find a Practitioner". I hope you find someone that is able to help you... ~Anna
