I have been following the AIP diet for a little over two months now. I have Hashimoto's and hypoglycemia. My neck pain is gone. Sleeping is better, but when I get stressed easily have a night of insomnia. Added black pepper in the other day. I had itchy eyes but am suspecting I could have an intolerance to non gluten foods like yams and banana's, two foods I have a difficult time giving up. I did blood work with a functional medicine doctor that studies under Dr. Karazian (sp?) everything looked good except for ph levels and blood sugar handling. I find it hard to balance my blood sugar due to lack of variety of foods to eat like nuts and stuff. I eat about 2-3 servings of fruit each day and try to eat with something fatty, but am finding difficult to balance the cooking and taking care of my 16 mo. daughter. Feels like I'm constantly cooking and cleaning pots and pans!! So my doctor gave me a list I should be taking to repair gut etc. They are from Apex Energetics and they have things in them that in the AIP book are a restricted food. He told me that it would be a good idea to listen to Dr Karazian rather than Sarah's book! So am taking the Tumeric extract that has xantham gum in it and also the Resvero. I will keep updates on my progress. Hopefully there is no digressing!
Also, am realizing the importance of doing activities outside, grounding to the earth to minimize stress. So important!
