Hi, i am new here. I started doing paleo months ago, as I have lots of autoimmune issues. But realised that dried fruit and honey were a problem so cut them out. Then i realised fruit is tricky. I had loads last weds and since then my stomache is not right; I now can't handle much meat at all, am trying to exclude FODMAPS, and have had huge reaction to cutting them out. Is this detox? I am hardly eating. Ate kelp on Sat and vommitted. yesterday and today I had to eat eggs and yoghurt, as they sooth my stomache and need to eat. Today I manages veg soup with some small bits of bacon. I have lost 7lbs in 4 days and am week/distressed. Can anyone help please?

Dear Eliza,
Fruit should not be omitted on Paleo/AIP but should definitely be restricted. I had serious digestive issues when I went AIP as I mistook it for a low- to no-carb diet. Elevating my carb intake helped a lot in this. If dried fruit and honey are an issue for you, you should definitely eliminate FODMAPs for 3 to 4 weeks and see if the problem resolves itself. For a better meat digestion, try betaine HCl. Another very soothing ingredient to my diet plan is bone broth. Go slow on anything you eat and don't eat "loads" of anything.
Hope this helps!

What you are experience could be die-off. The guys at scd-lifestyle explain that pretty good in their free intro chapter.
