It would be good to check with a functional medicine doctor or Naturopath. I take estro-Dim because I get anxiety due to high estrogen levels and methylation issues. That keeps me in check. It might be good to check amino acid levels and hormones levels to see what is off for you, while your gut is healing.

I take magnesium 2-tablets 250 mg each now. What is the difference in magnesium vs. Magnesium glyconate?

Maybe this site will help you figure out which type of magnesium to take: www.drnibber.com/understanding-different-types-of-magnesium/Also, are you working on getting more sleep and reducing stress? Have you tried a daily yoga and/or meditation routine? Just 15 minutes a day can make a huge difference after a little while. I downloaded guided meditation podcasts (free) and made sure to cut out 15 minutes in my day to make it a priority.

My FNP suggested either DIM or Flaxseed for me to reduce estrogen (I'm estrogen dominant AND hypothyroid so I've got the anxiety coming from two directions!) I was nervous about taking DIM due to it's possible affects on my thyroid (it being from brassicas and all). I would be interested in your experience with DIM. How long before you noticed a change?

What everyone else has suggested, but also consider counseling - sometimes, talking to a qualified, unrelated person can be very valuable.

Thanks everyone! Love all the information. Going to try magnesium glycinate and getting more sleep and try to reduce stress.

also get your hormone levels checked - thyroid and adrenal function definitely, but also poss estrogen and progesterone if you can. sometimes if one hormone is out of whack it can go "upstream" and affect the hypothalamus and that messes with all the other hormones....
