I know there is a few threads on Facebook with success stories but I thought it would be nice to have one here to be able to come back to whenever people are down and need some uplifting. I know this is for diaries and things but I thought it would be nice to have one quick thread with everyone's brief success story.
Here's mine...last year I had a baby via emergency c section. About 6 weeks following his birth I started getting joint pain. I was unable to get out of bed, was hospitalised and had a bunch of testing done. I was put in steroids which helped but the pain and inflammation returned after coming off the steroids. I was diagnosed with sero negative polyarthritis and put on methotrexate. I started AIP in January and it has helped a lot. I am active again and feel I have my life back. I am starting to wean off methotrexate and hope to be able to manage this without drugs.
Can't wait to read your story!

Thanks for starting this thread, love your story! Those first few months after birth are hard enough without any extra health issues to deal with. So glad you are feeling better!

This is a great idea for a thread! I'm excited to hear everyone else's success stories too...
And keep in mind that you don't have to feel like you are 100% cured or in completely perfect health to consider yourself a success. AIP is always a work in progress and there will always be ups and downs, ebbs and flows. My Crohn's disease is still with me, even though I'm feeling better than ever before. I still have down days and struggle sometimes. But there are small victories to celebrate! For example, I posted on my FB page earlier this week that I was celebrating because I had just stopped at a rest area along the highway only because I wanted to stretch my legs and get a drink of water. Before I found paleo, I would have been mapping out rest areas ahead of time and stopping because I needed to use the toilet!

I just started drinking bone broth daily a couple of weeks ago and my finger nails are starting to heal up. They were pitted really bad. I asked my skin doctor if there was anything that could be done for them and he said no ( was there for psoriasis). This is really encouraging and I am slowly setting my diet and environment up for paleo and leaky gut protocol. Today I am going to the butchers where they have antibiotic and hormone free beef, although they are finished off with corn for a few weeks. Not the best but at least the meat is chemical free. They do have one rancher that does sell 100% grass fed though for the same price, so I'll probably call him to set something up. My wife suggested buying a small freezer for my meat. She rocks.

Very cool! I fractured my elbow about a month ago. It healed very well (doc said no cast for this type of fracture, just a sling), and I credit the bone broth! FYI, You can order high quality beef online. The Paleo Mom discusses her favorite online retailers here: www.thepaleomom.com/2012/03/grass-fed-beef-superfood-worth-premium.html (I'm not sure if you're in the US?)

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and Psoriasis on my scalp. I have been on AIP since 1st Feb only and I can now wear rings on my fingers again. It has been 5 years since my rings fit due to joint swelling. I have also lost 6kg in 5 weeks which is not the goal, but useful, as I was right at the border of overweight and obese before I started. I am off all the NSAIDs I was on for a trial and still feeling good so far. I also just managed to buy a house which means 2 fantastic things for me 1) I can start to grow nutrient dense food for myself (using soil tests to actually balance the minerals in the soil) and 2) No more living on a 6 Lane trucking route and being woken up 4 to 8 times every night by noisy trucks. I move in early April. It is not all success for me as I still have digestive issues.

Hi this way of eating work very well without killing me with more exercises that I always do before. I eat paleo and keto for about 90% to 100% some weeks. I have lost at this time 33 pounds again 16 to be my healting weight .I am close to 78 years old ( in December) and in very good health no drug medicine nothing at all. So I continue to eat paleo and keto recipes and lost my last 16 pounds for more fun to eat this way
