Sorry, I didn't know where to write this. Wondering if anyone likes to use candles and what candles might be the safest to use? Thanks in advance Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

This is something I need to tackle. Sadly, I have a good stock of PartyLite candles. Mostly because my cousin "pays" me with them when I watch her kids (read: when her kids come over to play with my daughter). I need to just pack 'em up and regift them. I rarely light them anymore! I have seen lovely candles at my farmers market and street fairs, but I don't have any company recommendations... Yet

I make candles using sheets of beeswax and candle-wick - very simple - you just roll the wax sheet firmly around the wick. They don't burn for long but they smell wonderful and are all natural.

I need to just pack 'em up and regift them. Candles are SO easy to regift! Go for it The few candles I have are handmade from markets in Europe-made of pure beeswax and in interesting shapes (although I have some tea candles, too). I love them because they don't STINK! I'm allergic to fragrances and it's hard to find non-stinky regular candles these days

I'm new to this concept. What would make a candle safe or unsafe to use? I was just thinking about risking lighting your house on fire, but I guess we're looking at other risks here.

Not an expert here but from what I understand most candles are made from petroleum-based parrafin wax which lets off toxic "stuff" as they burn. 100% beeswax candles are suggested as a good alternative and supposedly help improve indoor air quality. At the very least, it seems better than basically burning gasoline in your house. I like this blog post for a quick, interesting read: wellnessmama.com/4629/clean-indoor-air-naturally/. I ordered some tapers and tea lights from amazon.com and the food co-op I'm in, Azure Standard, sells them as well. --Eva

There are less than desirable ingredients used in most mass produced candles. I seriously get a migraine when walking by candle sections in Hallmark or by Yankee Candle in the mall. Candles that burn clean(er) is what I need. I may just need to make my own. Maybe using essential oils with beeswax?
