I got some recommendations for prenatals but some of the vitamins are derived from rice. I'm also looking for bioavailable folate....this is asking for a lot I know

Hi - I use Wellness Essentials for Pregnancy by Metagenics; the only ingredient issue is soy, I have not had any issues, it has 1mg of folate. I really like this as it comes in a packet and I do not have to think about it.

I've been looking for a prenatal to start taking before I get pregnant. I cannot do any dairy, soy, gluten, corn, or glycerin. Ugh! I just sent a message to Rainbow Delight to ask about their ingredients. I'm guessing that the capsule and possibly some of the other ingredients are derived from corn. Plus, that one has spirulina in it, which kinds of stimulates my immune system too much. I'll keep looking for others too.

I use the Mega food herb free. They are great as far as digestion goes- only thing I've tried that I don't taste all day. I'm not sure how absorbable they are though...

Thanks Jill! I'm going to go ahead and get the Mega Food Herb Free I think.
Here's the info that I received from the Rainbow Light Company:
"Thank you for your email. All of our multivitamins have vitamin C as ascorbic acid and the original starting material is corn, no corn proteins. The Prenatal Vitamins will have some derivatives of corn but again no corn protein. In addition to the vitamin C (starting biomass is corn but end product has no corn proteins), the herb extracts are spray-dried on maltodextrin (corn is starting biomass), some of the coating ingredients have corn-based derivatives. Corn is a common starting material for many pharmaceutical and dietary supplement excipients and processing aids because it is not one of the Major 8 Allergens (like dairy, soy, gluten) and is a readily available carbohydrate/cellulose source from US based supply chain. Please note there is no whole corn, pure corn starch, etc. that might influence a dietary sensitivity."
= it has corn, but just derivatives and not proteins

Here's the response from Abigail at Mega Food:
Thank you for taking the time to contact us! Baby and Me does not include corn, however, we do not test for corn cross-contamination therefore we do not make a corn free claim.
