I have beef kidneys in the freezer that I'm trying to figure-out what to do with. Can you mix it in with meat just like liver? I thought about trying Sarah's Offal Stew, but I don't think I'll be able to handle the taste and texture. Any suggestions or favorite recipes?

Steak and kidney pie! Mix it with beef/steak and top with either a paleo piecrust or cauli/root veg mash to make a shepherds pie version... If you don't want to do the pie version, just cook it in the slow cooker with the beef/steak and do it as a stew. The offal stew is good though. Maybe you could use the same seasonings, add the kidney, but substitute beef for all the other offal.

What does kidney taste like? Is it similar to liver?
Maybe I'll try the stew, or some version of shepherd's pie that doesn't have nightshades. Thanks for the ideas!

kidney doesn't taste like liver. I can't really describe what it tastes like because to me it just tastes of kidney. It also doesn't have the same texture as liver.
