Hi there, I have been on AIP for 3 years for psoriatic arthritis but only since January have I done it completely. I have been seeing a functional medicine dr and started to see great success. It is winter in Australia and I have been struggling with a sore throats for over 3 months. Every time it starts every joint in my body swells and I am unable to do anything. It then all settles then the cycle starts again. Has anyone else had this? I am desperate and am unsure whether to start medication or whether it will eventually settle. I feel the reason I keep getting sick is because of immunosuppressants in the first place. I panic and take more and more out of my diet and now am down to only a few foods. Would really appreciate if anyone can help me?

I am by no means an expert in anything. And I'm only a month and to the AIP diet myself. But I have been struggling with food allergies and sensitivities for nearly eight years now. But still sort of sounds like some sort of food sensitivity to me. I totally understand about the fear of having to eliminate more than you already have.
My only recommendation is if you have been pretty much true to the diet since January you should be ready to reintroduce some of the borderline categories of food. Perhaps you could consider adding back some of those while removing a food or two that you suspect could be the source of the problem.
I know typically you wouldn't want to change two things at once so that you can directly isolate what caused which change. But it sounds like there is some desperation in your voice and there is something to be said about eliminating too many things from your diet.
you may also want to analyze the nutrients that you are taking in over a three or four day period. It's possible your symptoms are the results of an imbalance in electrolytes or vitamins. And of course as always be sure that you're drinking sufficient amounts of water. Which is a particular problem of mine.
good luck

and I guess I should have led with the question " have you had Food allergy testing done?" It's possible one of your meat could be to blame. While my symptoms are different than yours, I am allergic to chicken turkey and Seafood which complicates my food options and supply of nutrients as well.
