Hello there! Been dealing with a condition called CIDP (chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy) for a little while now and doing a lot of research on it. Finally decided to order some stool tests and what do you know, all my gram-negative populations were out of range (high). Worst of all was the amount of e. coli i had. Reference being 90,000-46,000,000 CFU/g where mine was at 510,000,000 CFU/g which was confirmed problematic by overexpression of B-glucuronidase. So... I'm suspicious to say the least. I tried berberine for a while, got terrible die off effects that resembled my disease symptoms to the point where i had to stop. Doctor put me on biocidin which is still berberine based and i scaled that very slowly. Noticed some mild muscle-aches, though nothing disease specific. Maxed out my dosage after a few weeks and noticed neither worsening effects or improvement. So i'm not really sure what to do at this point. I can't even get in contact with my Dr. I've been trying Prescript-Assist to add some diversity, but that hasn't done much either. I know E. coli are naturally resilient little shits and I don't want to wipe out the rest of my flora just taking berberine continuously unless I can do something sustainable. Just wondering if anyone has dealt with something like this and what other options are out there.
