Hi, this is my first post here so i m not sure what to expect...
I have been having major digestive issues for months. I was trying to fix whatever it was on my own with probiotic foods and clean eating. I have been off of everything that I have found I am most sensitive to like eggs, nuts, raw veggies and all fruit. I have been miserable, tired, in pain and just feeling crummy in general. 2 weeks ago I gave up and saw a doctor. He diagnosed me with a case of C. Diff (Clostridium difficile.) I am so relieved to know this and am taking Flagyl to get rid of it. I am so nervous to take an antibiotic after the doc suspects I caught this from an antibiotic in the first place. Aside from probiotic food what should I add to my diet to prevent this from happening again? I am thinking of taking a probiotic supplement but am having a hard time deciding whats good among them. I am going to continue to eat clean because I think it’s the only way to eat but I would like some tips on keeping this gut of mine as strong as possible and what I can do to prevent C Diff in the future. I am pretty sure I have had this before a few years back too.

Alyssa - hope you are feeling better soon. Are you making and eating bone broth? That is really healing for the gut. Many people drink it plain, like a warm tea through out the day. I don't know how you prevent this from happening again, but having a strong digestive system and eating well will certainly help.
Are you doing Paleomom's AIP? Or paleo? Eating clean means different things to different people. :-) I would make sure I was eating no grains, or other things that may irritate your gut.
Some people use the GAPS intro diet (gut and psychology syndrome diet) even for just a few days to give their gut a healing break from regular food. (You can google GAPS for more info). To start it would be just meaty broths and cooked, non-fibrous veggies, as well as some probiotic foods (small amounts to start). That might help, since you say you cant eat raw veggies? Everything is cooked, lots of soups (homemade bone broth) to start with.
In our family, we have used a "human grade" expensive probiotic from a naturopath...so many different kinds, it is confusing.
