I posted links to TPM on a discussion board for psoriasis, elsewhere and somebody replied that lichen planus is not psoriasis. I found this phrase on TPM site in an article on modifying AIP for psoriasis: "I am a long term sufferer of lichen planus, a form of psoriasis". Here is the link the person provided. www.psoriasis.org/about-psoriasis/typesCan someone please provide a link to a credible reference in which lichen planus is cited as a form of psoriasis. Thanks.

I honestly hadn't heard of LP being a form of psoriasis before. That said, I'd like to think Sarah knows enough to confidently make that statement. The symptoms are similar, and both are listed as a differential diagnosis for the other in this document: www.srmuniv.ac.in/downloads/Lichen_planus_an_Psoriasis.pdf Otherwise, I've not been able to find that LP is a form of psoriasis. Maybe ask Sarah directly? www.thepaleomom.com/contact

Lichen planus is not a form of psoriasis. They are two different conditions. However, one form of lichen planus can look similar to psoriasis. Generally a dermatologist will take a biopsy to get a confirmed diagnosis by histological examination.
