Hi! I'm so glad to have found this amazing community
I'm 19, and I have just received the results of my blood analysis:
Total cholesterol: 295
T3: 0.77
T4: 8.28
TSH: 1.91
Cortisol: 18.8 mcg / dL
Serotonin: 115 ng / mL
I was looking for a possible Hashimoto (I still have doubts) and I've been surprised to see that I have as high cholesterol. I'm making transition to aip, I don't eat nightshade and egg whites and I've reduced nuts, however, I don't notice nothing. I'm still amenorrheic and extremely thin.
Any advice? Would I do other tests?
Thanks for reading.

I'm not an expert here but just started reading on the topic... My understanding is that total cholesterol is entirely irrelevant and you should be requesting a particle test as only certain types of lipoproteins (cholesterol carriers) are capable of infiltrating the endothelium and initiating plaque formation. AIP alone would probably favor heart health as it eliminates the biggest cause of cardiovascular disease. That being excess sugar consumption (particularly fructose) which skyrocket your triglycerides as well as form AGEs. If you're still worried about cholesterol, high blood sugar also activates HMG-CoA reductase which is the rate controlling enzyme in the synthesis of cholesterol. So proper blood sugar levels should mean better cholesterol profile. Aside from that, avoiding other forms of oxidative damage such as smoking that can damage the vascular wall and keeping a hefty intake of anti-oxidant rich foods will prevent the stages that initiate plaque formation as well.
