Hi All,
I am really suffering with severe heat rash that happens every time I exercise. So, that means that if I exercise 4 times a week, the skin has no time to heal and at one point my doctor told me I had a candida infection in the skin due to the heat rash. I was put on difflucan and told not to exercise for two weeks. It only resolves if I remain in an air conditioned place and do not workout or go out in the heat for two weeks. Clearly, I can't function like that. In just one exercise session, the rash is back. I shower immediately after getting home from exercising.
I get it under my bra line, under the breasts and across my back, as well as on my armpits where my skin rubs against my shirt when my arms swing I walk a lot or run.
It is so itchy and burns terribly.
I have eczema as well, which is well controlled on Paleo (except for on my hands if I leave them in water doing dishes for a long time), so I was wondering if the heat rash might also be autoimmue? I know there is a rash due to a immune reaction that is brought on by heat, even just body heat, but those rashes resolve from within 30 minutes to a few hours after the body cools down. This rash does not resolve.
I am also unsure what is going on with the candida issue, since the rash seems to turn into a candida rash (according to the doctor), even though I eat Paleo and watch the sugar intake from Paleo treats, squash, and fruit. I feel like I could do better in that area though, but then my issue is I can not seem to eat enough to keep my energy high enough to function, especially on days when I do CrossFit, without sweet potato and some fruit.
Anyone have any suggestions or know how to prevent heat rash other than what my doctor suggestions, which is not working out or going outside (I live in California).
Thanks!!
