I just read an article from that says if digestive enzymes are not Enteric coated, they are not going to help you. "Enzymes won’t do you any good at all if they’re dissolved in your stomach, so they need a special coating to get them through the stomach acid unscathed. This is called an enteric coating. Some people argue that you don’t need to get enteric-coated enzymes because the stomach is only acidic enough to destroy the enzymes right around a meal. But guess when the most effective time to take the enzymes is? Right around a meal! So yes, it really is worth the money to pay for the enteric coating." I have been taking enzymes to help heal my SIBO, wondering if I am not really helping myself now or wasting money. Please I would appreciate all info and suggestions! Thank you!

Digestive enzymes need to work in the stomach to assist digestion, right? The stomach squirts liquid food into the small intestine for absorption, so you wouldn't want the enzymes to bypass the stomach, which would happen with an enteric coating. I guess I would need to check my biology facts on that. In the meantime, check out The Paleo Mom's several articles on digestion support.
