Hi All,
At first I was excited I had found the mother load of cheap meat, imagine my euphoria that much of it is grass fed!!!
The Meat Emporium in Alexandria (one block back from the Grounds) is a wholesaler which sells direct to the public.
I've been getting whole grass fed porterhouses for $12 a kilo, rib eye for $14, and eye fillet for $19. They have grass fed short ribs which are to DIE for for 13 bucks a kilo.
There is also an excellent cheaper-than-organic-shops range of organic and free range of pork, lamb, poultry. In ghee freezer section they have organic chicken wings for $3 a kilo which I use for bone broth.
They do excellent mark downs ie up to $10 off items only $17 to start with.
There are butchers on hand to prep your haul for you the way you wish after you've bought the meat - and the service is FREE!
I rejoice every time I open the freezer and see it chock full of amazing!!
