I need some more snack ideas! We're not fully AIP and nuts and raisins are our most-served snack. I'd like to cut those out. What other snack ideas do y'all have? Anything to add to this list: jerky, sardines, olives, salmon salad, veggies. Not all of those fit the bill for all six of my kids in all situations. Maybe something with coconut butter or oil? Thanks for any ideas!

Gummies are always a hit with my kids. But other than that it's just {probably too} simple snacks for them. Veggies with pate or guacamole. Fruit slices. We don't buy meaty snacks {to save on money}. Even a quick smoothie with berries, greens, coconut milk... You could make a trail mix of dried fruits and coconut chips, but that could get tricky with the sugar load in dried fruits {I assume that is why you want to cut out raisins}. Sarah also has this blog post on Kid Snacks that you might find helpful: www.thepaleomom.com/2012/05/kid-snacks.html and I do know that these "cupcakes" get rave reviews from AIPers www.eat-real-food-paleodietitian.com/lemon-blueberry-coconut-autoimmune-cupcakes.html

Its tough if you want to cut out nuts and fruit...maybe kale chips, crispy bacon, lots of great recipes with coconut butter and oil... Elanaspantry.com has some great recipes like her Zucchini Chocolate Chip Mini Muffins and Lemon Poppy Seed muffins (we love these and we sub for the agave)
Paleocupboard.com has a hummus recipe made out of Zucchini and its really good...tastes like the real deal to me??
Fermented sourkraut is delish and balancedbites.com has a recipe that I somewhat follow and it comes out great every time. I guess its more of a side than a snack, but thought I'd throw it out there along with homemade pickles. My kids like to snack on those smaller Persian cucumbers that they sell at trader joes and costco, etc...

I make a lot of plantain and banana chips in the dehydrator. Similarly, my kids love any veggie chips as well - I do kale, rutabaga, beet, carrot, sweet potato, zucchini, eggplant. I make a lot of fruit roll-ups as well - just pureed dehydrated fruit (you can also dehydrate leftover smoothies in the same way). Jerky? I make that a lot. Another good one is to make an egg, tuna or chicken salad with mayo and stuff it in a hollowed out tomato.
Avocado, hardboiled eggs(and stuffed eggs too!), guacamole, cauliflower or zucchini "hummus", baba ganoush, and even chicken liver pate are all favourites with my kids - they either dip the veggie chips in them or they use some homemade plantain crackers or even just veggie sticks.
The other thing that my kids will snack on is any leftovers that I put in the fridge.
