I have severe rosacea and psoriasis. The rosacea covers both cheeks, nose, chin, and around the eyes. The psoriasis started at the forehead, progressing to the ears and left cheek. At it's worst, the combination made me look like I had leprosy or something. Rx did nothing. The light bulb came on when one doctor's nurse, in answer to my question of why they were pushing yet more antibiotics for a condition that is not caused by bacteria, said the word 'inflammation'...as in "the antibiotic will reduce the inflammation...you know, the redness". WELL, DUH. No, I didn't take their meds that they were so determined to push on me.
I have been AIP since March 1st. Along with the diet, I take zinc specifically for my skin and niacin for several things including skin. I also apply coconut oil to my face and ears at least once a day if not twice.
Have I seen improvement? YEP! Is it healed completely? NOPE. The redness is about 60% reduced, the psoriasis has regressed back to a few small spots on my face and around my ears.

It took about a month of strict AIP for my eczema to disappear. But then it came back with a vengeance after an unexpected contamination. Then it took another month or more to go away. My other autoimmune skin condition hasn't changed at all in 4 months on AIP.
I think it's a matter of combining all the different parts (diet, natural skin care, reducing stress, sleep!) to find the right balance for your body.

one month to completely clear eczema is pretty impressive.. did you start to cheat on the diet when the eczema came back? also do you guys take l-gluatine for the gut? my supplements are as followed , pro bionics zinc vit c vit d3 mega vit b fish oils garlic tablets im also considering takeing alovera gel capsules and also introducing a tumeric supplement due to its powerful anti-inflammatory properties... also i found when i used cocunut oil it irritated my skin which was annoying atm i use bepthanan baby ointment... i heat it up with a air blower so it glides on my skin easy... also im a male so my weight is dropping im considering begining to eat maybe 1 serveing of sweet potatoe and also maybe eating 2 pieces of fruit per week rather then just 1... i feel my energy levels are pretty low! as im real strict aip..

Yeah...but at the time, I was expecting miraculous results from AIP, so I was disappointed haha. I didn't cheat (ever), but I went to a potluck and there must have been some paprika in something I ate (even though I asked multiple times for the ingredients). My skin goes through phases-sometimes it's clear and sometimes it starts freaking out again. I haven't gotten to the bottom of why that is exactly. But at least it's occasionally clear-that never happened before AIP! I was using coconut oil as lotion for about 3 months at that point, but once everything went crazy, I got nervous and switched back to my old super sensitive skin lotions. I haven't tried it again. I've never taken supplements. My system seems to have changed lately, though, so I may look into it. Also, for skin issues, my doctor highly recommended fermented cod liver oil. Liz Wolfe ( The Skintervention Guide) raves about this butter/cod liver oil blend. Many skin conditions are due to vitamin deficiencies...and the butter/cod liver oil fills in for some of those. I haven't tried it yet, but it's next up in the experimentation process for me You seem to be on the right track-if you're losing weight, don't let yourself get too low carb! Check out this carb curve to find the sweet spot between losing and gaining weight (use a food tracker for a few days just to get a feel for how you're eating).

I do take supplements. Let's see if I can remember them all off the top of my head --
Vit C (5g per day) L-Glutamine (500mg per day) B-12 B-3 (Niacin--the "flushing" kind) (200mg per day just before bed) Zinc (100mg per day) HPA Blend (this is an ashwaganda/Rhiola/something blend for the Hypothymus/pituitary/adrenal complex) Vitamin D (5000IU per day) Betaine HCl -- at mealtimes
I eat liver (chicken or rabbit) daily and oily fish almost daily.
I started out taking Fermented Cod Liver Oil and the High Vitamin Butter Oil. The HVBO tasted absolutely horrid and burned my throat so I stopped taking it. The FCLO seems to irritate my liver. I have stopped it and am scheduled for a check of my liver enzymes.
Seems to me that if you are only having one potato and 2 fruits PER WEEK that you are way too low on carbs/starches. Shouldn't that be a "per day" rather than "per week" thing?

I knew I would forget something but I didn't figure it would be my favorite go-to supplement! MAGNESIUM!
