I saw it yesterday on my way home from work -- the U-Pick sign up for STRAWBERRIES!!! (Can you tell that makes me very happy?) So, I need recipes and ideas. NOTE: I can incorporate coconut milk into recipes where each serving does not have a lot of coconut milk but can't do to much coconut milk. Too much gives me digestive upset. Coconut oil and coconut water are handled by fine. One idea I've been mulling around and could use some help/ideas with: Strawberry Liver Pate??? I saw a Blueberry Liver Pate recipe which got me thinking.... and, I made this amazing Liver Pate Mousse (based on this ..with just a change of spices since I didn't have nutmeg available..) this past weekend that includes an apple and I thought...ummm...what IF I swapped out the apple for strawberries? and, what herb(s)/spice(s) would go good with strawberries and liver? (And, I can't believe that what I ponder is liver pate recipes...really? what has happened to me???!!) Are there other meat/organ recipes that include fruit where strawberries might go nicely??? Ready, set, GO!

I like fresh strawberries with coconut cream if you can tolerate it. Katrina Norman

Apples and liver go well together because the tartness + iron-ness sorta balance each other out. So maybe less-ripe strawberries would sub in best? If our strawberry season wasn't so short here I'd experiment with that, too!
I like stewed strawberries; just cut up and cook in a saucepan on low heat with half a vanilla bean. They'll soften and release enough juice to work up a good simmer. And they're excellent with fresh mint leaves on top. Otherwise I just eat them plain.

Anything strawberry and rhubarb. Mmf! We still have a ways to go before we have local strawberries ready though. :/

Rhubarb is not a common vegetable in these parts. I have never tried it...seems in all my travels around this country, I've never been in a rhubarb state.
Stewed strawberries sounds wonderful! That would help get past the fact that I can't add sugar (which is what *everyone* does, you know)...the vanilla and mint would be very nice, too...a dessert treat!
I'll be checking out that website re: the offal recipes...oh, yea, baby! (Did I just say that?)

It certainly isn't strawberry picking time where I live... we had snow last weekend!
I just love strawberries as they are - maybe sliced and sprinkled with a little balsamic vinegar. Also, if you put a little black pepper on them, it brings out the flavour more. Sounds strange but it works.

I wonder how they'd be in guacamole? I've used mango in guac, and it was phenomenal. Can't see why strawberries wouldn't be the same.
