Hello, I have had recent issues with light-headedness or dizziness. Sometimes I have like a "fog" in my brain. This has been happening more and more frequently, but generally in the morning after I get to work (8 am--10 am). When it began to happen I changed my morning routine and eat a banana and one scrambled egg (mixed with milk and cooked in butter or bacon fat) before leaving for work. That seemed to help for a time but the incidents have been almost daily now. I saw my conventional doctor today and she told me that I am becoming hypoglycemic. She said that the fructose in fruits & vegetables turns to energy much slower than the fructose from complex carbs. She does not agree with my primal blueprint diet and says she "sees this all the time" (people becoming hypoglycemic). She took my BP and it was perfect. She did not ask me about an average day and what I consume. I do not want to go back to eating grains; no way! Has anyone else experienced something similar? If so how did you remedy it? I don't know if I need to eat a piece of fruit before bed (so that by morning the glucose has turned into energy) or if I need a glass of milk or juice first thing in the morning. If anyone has experienced anything similar I would love to know what you did!

Have you ever considered eating a larger breakfast? Many people need larger meals to stabilize their blood sugars and hunger...for example, I regularly eat 2 eggs with veggies, avocado, and a piece of fruit for breakfast to keep me satisfied. If I feel hungry for too long, I'll also get lightheaded. Some people with hypoglycemia also benefit from frequent meals/snacks and eating every few hours.

Hi Lauren and thanks for your reply! I am going to eat a bigger breakfast tomorrow combining eggs, cheese and veggies. I am also going to eat fruit before sleep tonight as well.

I had this problem and added healthy starches like plantains for breakfast. It seemed to help.
