I've started making a vitamin/mineral water to drink to take my mega doses of vitamin C along with my L-glutamine. So, what I've got so far is:
1/2 gallon water 5g ascorbic acid 1g L-glutamine powder Himalayan pink salt 1/2 tsp Natural Calm Mg/Ca+
Now, when I'm working hard in the yard and sweating, this tastes delicious and I drink plenty without a problem. But, otherwise, I don't drink the daily allotment. It doesn't taste bad, it just doesn't invite mass consumption. What I need is some flavoring. Suggestions on how I might flavor this in an AIP complaint way? (I'm not using sweeteners at the moment due to candida but can have some limited fruit.)

Could you add some juice? Maybe lemon juice? I drink lemon flavoured water (with salt added) all day long at work.

I just add a dash of it to my waterbottle and then add a pinch of salt. I don't measure anything. Maybe 2-3 tbsp in 20 oz of water? Because I have it at work, I can't use fresh lemons, and I keep a bottle of lemon juice in the fridge.

What about coconut water instead of water? Unfortunately, that would be more expensive than I could afford. I found that the lemon juice, and a bit more salt than I was using, did the trick! It tastes really good. I'm still not quite drinking the whole amount in a day but I think I will work up to it now that I have a formula that tastes good.

Gotcha. I just remember my Midwife (who is also my ND) pushing coconut water on me when I was pregnant with my son. I couldn't stand the taste of it on its own though I bought it at Costco and would hide it in smoothies. Ha!

I can't afford much of it --enough for one glass a day. I laugh as I read what I just wrote -- it costs less than what I was spending on sodas. But, with all the special foods, special supplements, etc., I do have to limit my consumption of coconut water. sigh

See, I want to like coconut water, but meh. As far as flavoring ideas; cucumber and mint infused, lime and lemon infused, or grapefruit and mint {or sage!} infused.

If you haven't already, you could try Harmless Harvest coconut water. They pressure-pasteurize, so it's completely unheated and it genuinely tastes like coconut. It's delicious. Heat-treated coconut water just tastes like salt and regret.
