Has anyone here ever suffered with seborrheic dermatitis? My younger brother started having this when we went away to college, and it's been a struggle for him to get better. Dermatologists will simply prescribe creams or shampoos that help only minimally. And in the meantime, he's having extreme hair loss, which only fuels his stress levels and affects his self esteem. Since my mom and I both have Hashimoto's, I get the feeling that my brother's skin response may be autoimmune. So, has anyone had luck treating it (whether with AIP or something else)?

My son had it moderately on his scalp and some on his face. I put him on a gluten free diet almost 2 years ago for his ADHD. Interestingly enough, the SB almost completely disappeared. After I had him tested and found out he was also intolerant to soy and dairy and eliminated those, it is virtually gone He just has a tiny spot by his eye and at the creases of his nose. If I could get him to be full paleo, I feel it and his ADHD would likely be fully gone. However he doesn't live with me full time so I already had to convince his father about no gluten. Luckily he was positive for that (of course!) so when I had actual test results to back me up it helped. Maybe have your brother try a standard paleo diet and see if that helps? Also, my son's father has SB and pretty bad (terrible diet, smokes, etc) so I don't know of it's hereditary or if it's AI and he got the AI gene from both sides (I have several). Hope this helps and please keep me updated!

I've had it for 17 years. It almost went away since I started to eat paleo. But now unfortunately it's comming back because of a terrible contipation that's poisoning me. (I've had that for 2 months without understanding it until my doctor told me, because I poop every day...)
