Hello All,
I just posted about histamine and fodmop and aip, but thought I would start a thread on histamine and aip only.
So, does anyone know of good resources for Histamine and AIP recipes and advice? How have you all found to deal with this?
I am definitely overwhelmed about it right now and would love any advice you have for how to move forward.

I have been following more of a "low" histamine diet now for about 6 weeks. The low histamine chef has a paleo recipe book but it is not AIP friendly. Some of the recipes are or could be easily adapted. I did by the ebook. One thing I found helpful in the book is how she will pair something that is considered more antihistamine and anti-inflammatory -- at the end of each recipe she tells you what properties that recipe has and what vitamins/minerals it is high in that benefits a person with histamine issues. So while I have not actively made much from the cookbook I did find some of the information very helpful. I had also basically lived on antihistamines (sometimes more than one kind per day) for the last 20+ years. Anytime I would go off of them for more than 48 hours the itching would be maddening and I would start to get rashes almost like hives on my neck, face... So the first week off of antihistamines was very hard--actually the first time I tried to go off I only last 3 days then took it again for 2 days then back off. Then I started taking quertin + vit C from twin labs- their vit c is not derived from citrus and I found that to be amazingly helpful. I have been taking that twice a day. i am currently trying to see if I can wean down to once a day. In the past when I have tried to take vit c supplements they would make me so itchy. Vit c is also suppose to help break down histamine. Another thing I found very beneficial was soil based probiotics. I feel like a am starting to finally get a better handle on my histamine levels but it has taken several weeks. If you look at the lists they are all so different. What I have gathered is that each person is a little different and what you may not tolerate initially you may tolerate a little better later on. The only berry I can tolerate right now is blueberry. Blackberrys seem to be on the ok list but I had 10 blackberries one day and that was 10 blackberries too many.
The food intolerance network has a list so you can see what others did well and / or poorly with during their elimination phase and then maintenance, but once again each person is very individual. Pork is down low on that list and I seem to do ok with that.
