I made this jerky last time I traveled-it lasted great all week and really helped keep me satisfied when I couldn't get a "clean" meal. I made it in the oven at 200 degrees for about 3 hours per batch. It was fine in an airtight container during the flight, but I made sure to refrigerate it whenever I could. robbwolf.com/2011/05/11/diy-maple-sage-beef-jerky-recipe/

That sounds great. I just ordered some Epic Bison Cranberry bars for a Blue Cruise in Turkey. They were the only thing I could find that fit the strict AIP. Since I will be on a very small boat, the meals are set and very limited without many things I can eat, so it will be a real challenge.

I recently bought one of those bars, too. I just need a reason to eat it. Too bad they're a bit pricey...

Yes, they are, but it's a matter of survival for me since I keep losing weight and don't want to lose any more.

I think it depends on the mode of travel, as not every suggestion would be suitable. I used to drive long distances, and so I would keep a cooler in the car to store my food for the drive and for the duration of my stay. Lots of carrot and celery sticks, which were better for keeping me awake than any "energy shot" ever was! I made Mason jar salads for the drive, so I wouldn't have to heat anything. I had a Cilantro Lime Shrimp salad with lots of avocado that was awesome and kept very well. Then just regular meals portioned into microwave containers for the duration of my stay. From here on out, though, I'll just go with my Meal Cakes. Complete meal in a patty; not too bad cold if I can't find anywhere to heat 'em up.

I love the bison bars from Epic! My local Whole Foods ran out of the Bison kind and won't get them in stock before I leave for my trip this weekend I crave crunchy snacks when I'm travelings, so my faves are porkitos (http://nomnompaleo.com/post/25437941473/porkitos-a-k-a-crispy-prosciutto-chips), coconut chips, plantain chips, and apple chips.
