Hi all,
I have been paleo AIP for 8 weeks now and had blood tests before I started and again just now.
My results at all relatively good - decreased cholesterol and better thyroid function HOWEVER, my ALT and AST have both skyrocketed.
ALT is at 200 up from 28 (reference range is 0-45) and AST is at 58 up from 26.
The other thing of slight concern is my platelets have decreased from 157 to 144 (reference range 150-450). Is this related to the liver issue?
I know the liver issues is due to the increase in protein but should I be worried? Am I eating too much protein? I have protein at almost every meal.
TIA

High ALT and AST are not caused by increased protein consumption. These levels indicate possible muscle tissue damage, Hep C, or other liver disease. jamiekoonce.comSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
