Has anyone taken Curcumin? I currently have a high Sed Rate and my Naturopath just put me on it to try and decrease inflammation. Sarah has a use extreme caution label on this supplement. Has anyone else tried it and had success?

My naturopath put me on it also but then I noticed that the product prescribed (Thorne) contained soy so I stopped taking it. I didn't notice a difference one way or the other.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Thanks ausgust. I looked it up and it does contain a phospholipid derived from soy. Since its not a protein it shouldn't be a cross reactor but I agree anything that has the word soy on it makes me nervous.

Wow, good to know. I wondered why he'd give me something with soy?!

Fascinating that things can shift so quickly. A great argument for occasionally evaluating supplements to see if they're helping or hurting.

Thanks EJ! I hadn't gotten a chance to search the site. This made sense and, made me happy with the advice from my new Naturopath. She also put me on vitamin D, told me to increase my Fermented Cod Liver Oil intake (I usually only choke it down once a week and try to get some fatty fish at least 3x a week), and make sure I'm getting my probiotics which should help balance T1 and T2.

Interesting... I take curcumin whenever I feel like a flare up of symptoms might be coming on. I have Crohn's - which is a TH1 dominant condition, so I guess that makes sense. I can see why it is a "use cautiously" supplement.

Read the science behind it and decided to add it to my daily arsenal. Is it helping with anything? Not sure. I'm feeling great though.
