My name is Tiffany and I am very new to Paleo. Actually I have been practicing a Paleo diet for roughly 78 hours. I have been overweight for the majority of my life. I have always depended on my "winning" personality to mask my weight. I am 38 and tired of being a yo yo dieter. I have gained and lost the same 30 lbs countelss times over the last 20 years. I have come to the realization that I am addicted to sugar and I need to make some serious changes to my diet. Next to plain old fashioned sugar, bread is major contender for my heart. I haven't been under 200 lbs in about 2 years and I am ready to return to "onderland" and live a healthy life. I don't want to be a slave to the sugar monster anymore and I think Paleo may be the way to achieve this!

Hi Tiffmarie,
I feel you on having been over 200 pounds for a few years now. I've almost always carried extra weight. There have been a few brief periods in my teens and adulthood where I was close to a healthy weight. I've spent much of my adult life 20-30 pounds overweight but it started piling on about 5 years ago. The only time since then that my weight started to come off was when I tried an unsustainable (for me) fruitarian diet. I just couldn't take all that sugar and as a Southern Tex-Mex lady... I love sugar but that was to much.
I've been AIP-ing for almost a month now and surprisingly sugar has not been what I miss most... Eggs & butter.
How is your journey going? What are your observations/thoughts?
Ciao, nnTsn
