Crossfit is getting pretty big up here! That usually means Paleo followers. Nobody in Vermont, huh?

But! Melissa Joulwan of theclothesmakethegirl.com and Well Fed fame is moving to Vermont in a couple of days, which will boost Vermont's cool status several notches.

Thank you, we love this area too. The members certainly do span a vast area of the state. I wish we were closer to each other! We used to live in Corinth before we moved to the Banana belt down here in Southern VT ;-) Are you following strict AIP? I fell off by adding nuts, nightshades and occasional dairy and my health issues relapsed. Now I am trying to get back onto the strictest version and it is harder this time.

Too funny! We're near Corinth (almost brought two barns there to fix up for our living quarters- thx goodness we didn't considering how much work they needed). I was hoping for some close AIP neighbors too. But hey, now we at least know we aren't the only ones in the state. I've been following the AIP since sometime in October. I've been feeling so much better so I tried some non AIP things around the holidays and I got a stomach bug from the kids and felt awful! But since i didn't reintro the non AIP things correctly (one at a time and a little at first and increasing over a week)I don't know which foods bothered me or if it was just the stomach bug. and now I'm back to craving sweets! So back to strict AIP (although I do use blk pepper, and fennel in my sausage). I plan to use the new year as milestone for going back to strict AIP and that also means cutting back majorly on the sugar. I've come to rely on eating dates and coconut butter A LOT and using too much honey and maple syrup. It feels harder this time too. Although, looking back getting started the first time (and when I did the SCD)was super hard too. maybe I need to spend the day re reading all The paleo Approach and looking at AIP blogs- that always reminds me WHY I'm doing this in the first place!

Yeah, I need to use the New Year as a leaping off point too. I also do too much maple syrup and raw honey. I have been listening to a few of the AIP podcasts and that helps with the motivation. Wishing you the very best of luck!

How goes it with the AIP? Using the new year has been helping me. I think I need to make some sort of reminder to hang on the fridge tho- like food and lifestyle affects our genes or the classic “The food you eat can be either the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison.” Which podcasts do you listen to? My favorite is phoneix helix's and of course sarah's science bit (the paleo view).

I did a lot of "Batch Cooking" today from Mickey Trescott's book "The Autoimmune Paleo Cookbook". I took photos of the process and I was just about to load them onto my Facebook page. I'm trying to keep my self accountable by posting photos on Facebook and talking about the diet there. I really like Mickey's cookbook a lot. I like both podcasts but Sarah's can get a little too goofy with all the giggling and unrelated things they talk about. I LOVE Phoenix's pod cast, it is really good so far. I have listened to some good ones from Chris Kresser's "Revolution Health Radio" as well. If you want to conner on FB I'm under Linda Marcille.

Ooo! What did you try? I got the Ebook but other than making coconut milk I haven't tried any recipes. I plan on trying the ceasar dressing once I have some lettuce. I made a few of the recipes from the paleo approach cookbook and Louise hendon's autoimmune cookbook. I try a lot of blog recipes too. Sometimes they're great but I find there's an equal chance it's awful, especially baked goods. I listen to some of chis Kresser too. And paleo baby cause I've got a baby although no one else in the fam is AIP never mind paleo. Phoniex helix is by far the best! I agree about the paleo getting too off topic but I tune in while I'm in the kitchen for the science with Sarah part. Is it only me or does Stacys habit of swallowing while she talk get to you? But then again I'm one of those folks that mouth sounds drive crazy. Most of the time I don't notice but when I do OMG! Anyways....sounds like we've got the podcasts dialed in. I'm one of those no Facebook people so I won't be able to see your photos but that's a great idea! I love seeing real meals and getting inspiration.

The whole "silly giggly girls" thing about their podcast drives me crazy. That and all the off topic conversation. I much prefer Eileen's podcast. I do a lot of FB, I have a studio page and a regular profile there and I belong to a lot of AIP groups on FB so I think I may leave this community because having the added place to go feels like too much. It has been way cool being in touch with you and I wish you the absolute best on your journey!
