Many members are looking to connect with others who have been diagnosed with the same health issues. If you like, you may add your name to this thread along with details about your conditions. After that, please see this area that has boards for various health issues.

My name is Dee.. and I'm 47 years old, and dealing with Multiple Sclerosis ( MS ) and Lyme Disease. I've been battling those for the past 15+ years. Been avoiding wheat and dairy, etc. for the past 12 years but only recently gone to Paleo and noticed some improvement. Still looking for that which will significantly change the course of deterioration that I seem to be on.

I've had colitis since I was 18 years old. It wasn't until almost 30 years later that I learned the joint/muscle pain I have almost every day is related. I had never heard of leaky gut until about two years ago. It's all starting to make sense now.

My 10 yr old daughter was diagnosed with colitis yesterday. I feel so lost. No one else in our families have autoimmune disorders so this is all very new. Hoping to learn a lot that will help us deal with this.

Diagnosis chronic -migraine undiagnosed -celiac....my daughter is celiac and dad passed from intestinal cancer and I won't go back on gluten for a formal diagnosis. I am super sensitive and it's just not worth it!!! :-) doing AIP now, was just paleo but kept getting migraines, removing nightshades is helping!

Hi, I was first diagnosed with hypothyroidism, although I believe I have had it for years. Recently I have been told candidis overgrowth, adrenal fatigue and carbohydrate intolerance. I have severe sleep issues, night sweats, unable to lose weight and itchy skin. Been working to fix these things but having problems and don't know how to help myself. I have been Paleoish for about 18 months but considering full AIP.

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism/hashimoto. Many annoying nodules that bother me often, but luckily still no dangerous problems swollowing. Just started down the path of Paleo after going gluten free/dairy free/refined sugar free/soy free and more about a month ago. Found it very much helped minor stomach issues (didn't know it was related at the time to my autoimmune conditions). Made me feel better, so now considering AIP, at least going regular paleo. But I am a little confused about some of the veggies that Paleo has, that my thyroid books discourage. Such as cauliflower, spinach. (Aggravates goiters). So want to hear more/ read more. Also concerned about the costs of all the good food (pastured, organic, etc)... I want it, but can't entirely afford it, so working on that balance too.

Nicole - Join us in the IBD board! thepaleomomcommunity.com/board/161/ibd-colitis-crohnsI hope you daughter begins to feel better now that you have a diagnosis. I was a bit older than her when I was diagnosed (19) but I remember that not knowing what was wrong with me was the worst part. It was such a relief to know that what I had was real and had a name.

Hey everyone! I have celiac and am battling candida overgrowth! Hi Kara, we are also having issues with Candida. Do you take anything, or go through any "processes", to get rid of it! It's a mean animal! We are looking into cleanses, probiotics and other enzymes now to get rid of it ourselves...
